e-Waste Warriors

e-Waste Warriors, organised by Kent County Council, was a schools-based electrical recycling, repair and reuse project across Kent. After launching on 10th March 2025, the project  collected and recycled 5.89 tonnes of e-waste across six districts in Kent, in 36 schools, delivering assemblies to 21,224 students, 3,633 students were trained with repair skills, and 190 items were fixed at repair events saving the public an estimated £13,077.

We are absolutely delighted that Temple Ewell CEP School has been recognised as one of the highest individual collectors. Collecting 1.27kg of e-waste per student is a fantastic achievement and the children were incredibly proud to be part of the project. It has been a brilliant opportunity for them to learn about sustainability, responsible recycling and the wider impact of electronic waste on the environment.

The assemblies, resources and Team Repair activities were particularly engaging for the pupils, and the project has helped strengthen our ongoing work around environmental responsibility in school. We have also valued the links created with repair cafés and the wider community.

Thank you again for including us in the pilot project. We look forward to continuing our sustainability work and taking part in similar initiatives in the future.
