Ambitious environmental targets, increased consumer awareness of environmental issues, supply chain and tender requirements, and the threat of climate change are all requiring companies to rethink their practices and move towards business models that minimise their environmental impact, whilst delivering high-quality goods and services.

Achieving such a shift in practices is challenging, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), who may not necessarily have the expertise or resources to make drastic changes to how
they operate. That’s why at Kent County Council (KCC) we’re seeking to create a business environment that empowers SMEs to move towards more sustainable methods, which can lead to several additional benefits such as reduced costs, new customer bases, and greater business resilience.
