FoodLoop Project February 2022 – February 2023
FoodLoop Project
FoodLoop is a B2B app that aims to reduce food waste in Kent and Medway by connecting suppliers of surplus food with businesses, charities and community initiatives who use surplus food to make a new product or redistribute it to those who need it. We want more edible surplus to end up on the table and less in the anaerobic digester or landfill.
The project is open to any business, charity or community initiative dealing with surplus food – signing up for the project is FREE.
The project consists of two phases:
- From now until the end of March 2022, we are building the app and encouraging all businesses, charities and community initiatives dealing with surplus food in Kent and Medway to sign up to the app. FoodLoop will only work if we have an active community of organisations using the app.
- From 4 April 2022 until February 2023, we will be trialling the app. Organisations who – like you – have signed up to the app can use it FOR FREE to exchange surplus food within Kent and Medway. We encourage you to use the app as often as you can so that at the end of the trial period, we have a food waste solution that is fit for purpose and that helps the Kent community put more edible food waste on the table and less in the AD or landfill.
